The Joseph Drouhin Dinner
Four course dinner
Timing: Aperitif 7pm, sit down 7:30pm
Dress code: Smart Casual
Joseph Drouhin belongs to the very small number of houses which are part of the Burgundy Négociants elite. Founded in Beaune in 1880, Maison Joseph Drouhin has been in the hands of the Drouhin family for the last 130 years. Today, the fourth generation is at the helm, animated by the same passion that inspired the founder of the company.
The cellars have spread from the historical Cellars of the Dukes of Burgundy and the Kings of France in Beaune (12th-18th centuries) to the Moulin de Vaudon, an 18th Century watermill in Chablis.
A rigorous attention to detail, self-imposed discipline, a desire to learn, a strong sense of values, passion and daring, are the qualities that have been handed down through the generations, together with the art of winemaking and a never ending search for quality.
For this special evening we will have with us Master of Wine, James Simpson. James is a Cambridge graduate and the Managing Director of Pol Roger UK, the agent for Joseph Drouhin in the UK.
With dinner, we will be able to enjoy amongst others, a Pouilly-Vinzelles, a Chassagne-Montrachet 1er and Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru.
